Police has arrested a man in connection with an incident where explicit video was played on digital ad screens in DHA.
According to media reports, DIG South Syed Asad Raza confirmed that the arrest has been made from Bhagoria Goth amid inquiries into how obscene content appeared on the screens.
The incident involved explicit content being shown briefly on SMD ad screens managed by a private company along Khayaban-e-Ittehad near Ayesha Masjid.
An FIR has been filed at the Gizri Police Station under Section 292, which prohibits the public exhibition or distribution of obscene materials. The complaint was filed by the legal adviser of the advertising company after its operations director informed him of the incident.
According to police, the person arrested is an employee of the advertising firm. During interrogation, he claimed that approved ads were stored on his mobile phone. He stated that an explicit video was also saved in his phone and he mistakenly selected and uploaded to the SMD screens while he was uploading work content.
Meanwhile, the authorities have temporarily deactivated digital screens across other major routes in DHA as a precautionary measure while the investigation continues.
