JI alleges discrimination against Karachi students in Sindh MDCAT

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Monem Zafar Khan has alleged that Karachi students were subjected to discriminatory treatment in the MDCAT 2026 in Sindh and called on the federal government to oversee the entire testing system.

Speaking at a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq in Karachi, Monem Zafar said students from the city faced difficulties in examinations and alleged that the authorities were jeopardising their future.

He said questions had been raised over the results of the admission test for public and private medical colleges in Sindh, claiming that students from some districts of interior Sindh had a higher success rate than those from Karachi.

Monem Zafar said that 11,480 students in Lahore were accommodated at six examination centres, while 16,000 students in Peshawar were provided with 19 centres. In comparison, around 11,000 Karachi students were accommodated at only two examination centres, he said.

He questioned why examination centres could not be established at the district level in Karachi, saying students should have been provided greater facilities instead of being subjected to difficulties.

The JI leader also criticised the Sindh government’s education policies, alleging that the provincial education system had deteriorated after the establishment of various testing authorities for admissions.

He said students from Tharparkar had performed prominently in the medical admission test and again claimed that candidates from some districts of interior Sindh had recorded higher success rates than Karachi students.

Monem Zafar also cited the NED University admission test, claiming that the success rate of students from interior Sindh was around 24-26%, compared with about 66% among Karachi Board students.
He said education should be accessible to everyone and alleged that the Sindh government was undermining the future of Karachi’s students.
