In an act of state oppression, police brutally tortured the participants of the Save Gaza movement in Islamabad for protesting in front of McDonald's, which allegedly supports Israel's atrocities in Palestine.

The protest organised by JI Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been continued for almost a month at D Chowk in the federal capital.

The development was shared by the Save Gaza movement chief on his microblogging site X account.

The Jammat-e-Islami leader condemned the brutality, revealing that several protestors were also arrested by the police.

"This is fascism, pro-Israelism at its worst. The democratic right of people to peaceful protest was suppressed. Islamabad police should apologise [for this]," he said in a post while sharing a video of the incident.

The pro-Palestine leader also demanded the authorities to release the protestors immediately.

A month earlier, two participants of the Save Gaza movement were crushed to death by a lieutenant of the Pakistan Army.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the driver under sections 322, 337-G, 427 and 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Dawn News, quoting police spokesperson Taqi Jawad, reported that the driver is a serving lieutenant and is the son of a brigadier.

According to the publication, the armyman was handed over to the Military Police for further legal action.
