Renowned anchorperson Iqrar ul Hassan has announced his entry into politics, hinting at the launch of a political movement aimed at empowering youth and replacing the country’s traditional political figures. He has been holding meetings in different cities to share his political vision and gather public support.
Although Iqrar has not yet revealed the name of his political party, he referred to it as a “movement” that will bring together young minds committed to democratic principles and the protection of Pakistan’s institutions.
On social media, he frequently shares updates from his meetings with local residents and members of his Team Sar-e-Aam.
In one of his posts, Iqrar stated, “The only solution to the problems created by the military and political establishments is for the youth to abandon personality and family based politics and form a democratic political party built on institutional principles, electing their leaders through elections and making decisions through consultation.”

He also announced plans to form "administrative committees" across Pakistan, which will later evolve into a broader "movement." According to him, the leadership of this movement will be chosen through voting, and it could be anyone other than himself.
“The question is, why can’t a common man become the party leader or even the country’s leader when there are Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, or Khan?” he wrote in another post.
Iqrar emphasized that political parties must first introduce internal democracy by holding elections within their own structures to bring forward new, capable, and democratic voices.
“If the same person remains the party leader for thirty years, the party becomes stagnant,” he added.
He further stated that his movement will not revolve around a single personality but will be centered on youth participation, asserting that “any common man can become the party’s chairman and the prime minister of the country.”
