RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas have the authority to negotiate with the government, urging the authorities to contact them if they are genuinely interested in holding talks.
Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi alongside PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Raja said access to Imran Khan’s personal physician was not a matter of national security.
He said the PTI was willing to call a doctor from London for Imran Khan, but questioned why the former prime minister was not being allowed to undergo a medical examination by the doctor who had served as his personal physician for 40 years.
Raja also asked the government to clarify when the PTI had failed to support efforts against terrorism. He said the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would have to be taken into confidence over any operation against terrorism.
Referring to the draft presented during negotiations, the PTI leader said it stated that prisoners would seek mercy, adding that the party had made Imran Khan’s health, access to doctors and meetings with him its primary demands.
He further said the PTI had no disagreement with the National Action Plan concerning counterterrorism.
