Govt announces e-passport fees for five- and 10-year validity

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has announced fees for Pakistani electronic passports (e-passports), with charges varying according to validity period, number of pages and processing category.

For a five-year e-passport, the normal fee is Rs9,000 for a 36-page document and Rs16,500 for a 72-page passport.

Applicants opting for urgent processing will pay Rs15,000 for a 36-page passport and Rs27,000 for a 72-page document.

For passports valid for 10 years, the normal fee is Rs13,500 for 36 pages and Rs24,750 for 72 pages.

Under the urgent processing category, a 10-year e-passport costs Rs22,500 for 36 pages and Rs40,500 for 72 pages.

The fee structure covers two validity periods and two page categories, with urgent processing charges higher than normal fees for both five- and 10-year passports.
