Field Marshal Asim Munir, Russian interior minister discuss regional security

Russian Federation Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and met with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest and the regional security situation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides placed particular emphasis on strengthening bilateral security cooperation and highlighted the importance of close institutional ties and improved coordination between the security institutions of Pakistan and Russia.

The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its longstanding relations with Russia and expanding practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly security.

The Russian interior minister appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
