FIA foils bid to send woman to Saudi Arabia for sexual exploitation

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has foiled an alleged attempt to send a woman to Saudi Arabia for sexual exploitation under the guise of an Umrah visa.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the FIA immigration team detained the woman at Multan airport for questioning during immigration clearance and arrested an agent on her identification.

The woman was travelling to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa on flight SV801 when she was referred to the shift in-charge for further scrutiny.

According to the FIA, initial investigations found evidence suggesting that the woman was being sent abroad for sexual exploitation. Alleged evidence of exploitation was found in her mobile phone, chats and other digital material, the spokesperson said.

During the investigation, officials also obtained information about an alleged network involved in the sexual exploitation of women. The alleged gang leader was operating the network from Saudi Arabia, while the arrested agent had arranged the woman’s travel under the guise of an Umrah visa, the FIA said.

The woman’s mobile phone and other material were taken into custody for further investigation.

The woman and the arrested agent were handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Multan. The FIA said legal action would be taken against all those found involved in the alleged network.
