The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has confirmed that Eid ul Azha will be observed across Pakistan on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, following the sighting of the moon for Zil Hajj 1447 Hijri.

According to the announcement, Monday, May 18, marks the first day of Zil Hajj, finalising the religious calendar for the upcoming Eid period.

With the confirmation of the date, the previously issued public holiday schedule by the Cabinet Division will come into effect nationwide.

As per the official notification issued earlier in January 2026, Eid ul Azha holidays will be observed from Wednesday, May 27, to Friday, May 29.

Due to the weekend following the three official holidays, citizens are expected to benefit from an extended break of up to five days, from May 27 to May 31.

The final decision on the start of Zil Hajj was made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after reviewing moon sighting reports received from different parts of the country.
