The districts of Swabi and Buner in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, severely affected by floods and landslides, are presenting scenes of devastation.

Piles of debris can be seen across affected areas, while the atmosphere remains sorrowful.

In Swabi, the death toll from the recent cloudburst has risen to 28, including women and children. Around 20 houses were also damaged.

According to the Commissioner of Mardan Division, three bodies were recovered from the rubble, while one survivor, who was rescued alive, later succumbed to injuries. Search operations for more missing persons are still underway.

The families of flood victims in Swabi and Buner are grief-stricken. “We had made our house a paradise, but now nothing is left after the floods,” lamented one survivor.

It is worth noting that recent rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have so far claimed the lives of more than 350 people, including 228 from Buner alone.
