Chats relating to promotion of gambling apps found on Ducky Bhai's phone: NCCIA

A judicial magistrate on Monday extended the physical remand of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, for two more days, keeping him in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The YouTuber, accused of promoting illegal gambling applications through his YouTube channel, was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while attempting to leave the country.

The extension came after the completion of his initial four-day remand, granted on August 28.

At the hearing before Magistrate Muhammad Naeem Wattoo, the investigating officer sought more time, citing the forensic analysis of electronic devices recovered from the suspect. He told the court that several chats had been found related to the promotion of gambling apps, along with records of foreign transactions.

However, defence counsel Chaudhry Usman Ali, opposed the request, arguing that banking transaction details could be obtained without keeping his client in custody.

He further said the NCCIA had not provided evidence showing that Rehman was serving as the country manager for Binomo or that the applications he promoted caused users financial harm.

After hearing both sides, the magistrate granted a two-day extension in the YouTuber’s remand and directed the NCCIA to present him again in court on September 3.
