Former intelligence officer Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer has won a defamation case against ex-army officer Adil Raja at the London High Court. Raja had accused Naseer of corruption, political interference, and involvement in election rigging, allegations that Naseer challenged through a defamation suit.

Raja had alleged that Naseer played a role in sabotaging Imran Khan’s government and influenced the defeat of PTI-backed candidates in the general elections. He had also accused him of human rights violations, claims that were later proven baseless in court.

The UK High Court Judge Richard Spearman KC ordered Adil Raja to retract his statements and refrain from repeating such allegations on social media. In its verdict, the court maintained that Brigadier Naseer had indeed suffered reputational harm due to Raja’s false and defamatory claims, which the latter failed to defend.

Brigadier (retd) Naseer hailed the decision as a victory for everyone who has been a target of blackmail and online smear campaigns. Following the verdict, Raja was ordered to pay £50,000 in damages to Brigadier Naseer, along with an additional £300,000 to cover court expenses.

During the proceedings, PTI leader and head of the Assets Recovery Unit Shehzad Akbar, along with journalists Shaheen Sehbai and Syed Akbar Hussain, appeared as witnesses for Raja. Raja himself participated in the hearing through a video link.
