Mastung: Attack on Balochistan Constabulary convoy claims one life, leaves three others injured

At least one official was martyred, and three others sustained injuries in a deadly attack on the convoy of the acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the Balochistan Constabulary in Mastung district.

According to official sources, the convoy was returning from Kalat on Friday when unidentified gunmen ambushed the last vehicle of the convoy at Chhotu, an area in Mastung. 

The deceased was indentified as Balochistan Constabulary officer. One of the injured is reported to be in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the incident, stating that unknown armed men targeted the official vehicle on the national highway.

According to initial information, the attack was directed at the acting DSP’s vehicle, he said, adding that security forces have reached the site and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

This incident follows a recent spike in violence in the province. Just two days ago, three individuals were martyred and several others injured in a shooting incident targeting a vehicle en route from Karachi to Quetta in the Kalat area.

Authorities condemned the attack and reaffirmed their commitment to restoring peace and security in Balochistan.
