At least 11 killed, 18 injured in blast near Aman Mela in Dera Ismail Khan

At least 11 people were killed and 18 others injured in a blast near Aman Mela in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan),  Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Rescue 1122 said on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi said the Darazinda station team reached the site shortly after receiving information about the explosion and immediately began rescue and relief operations.

He said additional ambulances and rescue personnel from Karak and Hangu were also dispatched to support the search and rescue operation.

18 injured people have so far been provided first aid and shifted to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment.

Faizi said the bodies of 11 people killed in the blast had also been recovered from the site.

Six Rescue 1122 ambulances, a firefighting vehicle and more than 25 rescue personnel are currently involved in the emergency response, he added.

On the instructions of DI Khan Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan, four additional ambulances and rescue personnel were dispatched from DI Khan to assist with the operation and ensure that the injured received immediate medical care and were transported to hospitals.
