Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has denied reports suggesting that he was nominated as the party chairman by PTI founder Imran Khan.

Qaiser clarified that no decision has yet been made regarding the position of party chairman, and he also confirmed that the decision on the secretary general post will be made after consulting Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Earlier, media reports indicated that Imran Khan had removed Barrister Gohar Ali Khan from the position of PTI chairman and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja from his post, following criticisms related to the management of PTI’s recent protests in Islamabad.

Salman Akram Raja, who had been appointed as the PTI secretary general in September, submitted his resignation to the party leadership, which was later confirmed by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

Raja has faced significant criticism for his perceived lack of involvement in the party’s recent protests and demonstrations.

The reshuffling of leadership comes amid ongoing internal turmoil within the PTI, particularly after the party’s protest in Islamabad ended without significant results, leading to heightened dissatisfaction among party members and supporters.
