A woman accused of running a narcotics network in Karachi alleged on Saturday that investigators pressured her into giving “false statements” involving Banigala, an area associated with former prime minister Imran Khan.

The suspect, Anmol alias Pinky, made the claims while being presented before courts for physical remand in multiple cases related to narcotics and other allegations.

During the court appearance, she claimed she had been picked up from Lahore 22 days earlier and brought to Karachi, contesting the police claim that she was arrested in the city on May 12.

Police sought further custody of the suspect in several cases registered in different districts. A judicial magistrate in the Central district granted a six-day physical remand in a narcotics case registered at the Special Investigation Unit police station.

In a separate murder case linked to alleged narcotics supply, a judicial magistrate in the South district granted a two-day remand.

According to court proceedings, the suspect also alleged mistreatment during custody, while police maintained that further investigation was required.
