Following unprovoked firing by Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the Pakistan Army launched a powerful and effective counterattack, causing heavy losses to Afghan troops and militant elements.

According to security sources, several Afghan soldiers and militants were killed as the Taliban abandoned multiple posts and bodies while fleeing the area.

Reports confirm that numerous Afghan positions and terrorist formations suffered severe damage in Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes.

Security officials said Pakistan employed artillery, tanks, and both light and heavy weaponry in its response.

Additionally, air assets and drones were deployed to target ISIS and militant hideouts, as Afghan posts failed to provide cover fire to the militants.

Sources further revealed that many Afghan posts were left deserted, with soldiers fleeing after sustaining heavy casualties.

Facing intense losses, Afghan forces—gripped by confusion and panic—requested Pakistan to cease its retaliatory operation, a request that was firmly rejected.
