ISLAMABAD: An inmate at Adiala Jail has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the same prison facilities that are being provided to PTI founder Imran Khan.

The petition was filed by Muhammad Irfan, who stated that he is serving a 25-year sentence in a Section 302 (murder) case.

According to the petitioner, he has repeatedly requested superior-class facilities from the jail superintendent but has been denied each time.

Muhammad Irfan contended that Imran Khan is being provided with special privileges inside Adiala Jail, including superior-class amenities and regular meetings, while ordinary prisoners are deprived of such treatment.

In his plea, Irfan requested the court to direct the authorities to grant him the same privileges and facilities that have been extended to the PTI founder.

The petition has named the Secretary Interior, Superintendent Adiala Jail, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and the Home Department as respondents.
