NAROWAL: Floodwater that had inundated the Kartarpur Complex due to Indian water release has now been completely drained, officials confirmed.

The Darshan Deori, central checkpoint, reception cabins, parking stands, bazaar, central park, and the langar hall have all been cleared of water.

The main road from the central checkpoint to the Zero Point Immigration Office has also been reopened for traffic.

However, farmland within the Kartarpur premises remains submerged.

According to rescue authorities, evacuation operations are ongoing in nearby villages, and so far, around 600 people have been relocated to safe locations.

It may be recalled that on the previous day, heavy flooding in Narowal district had submerged the entire Kartarpur area, with water entering both homes and agricultural fields.
