'Taare Zameen Par' duo Aamir Khan, Darsheel Safary reunite for sequel after 16 years

Actor Darsheel Safary, know for his role as a child star in the 2007 blockbuster 'Taare Zameen Par,' recently hinted at a long-awaited reunion with Bollywood A-lister, Aamir Khan after 16 years. 

Taking to Instagram, Darsheel shared a collage featuring a nostalgic picture from 'Taare Zameen Par' alongside a glimpse from their upcoming project.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Darsheel referred to Aamir Khan as his "favourite mentor" and stated that the story behind the intriguing post would be revealed in four days.

In a heartfelt caption, he shared, "16 years later, and we're together again. Emotional? Yeah, a little. Charged? Absolutely. All the love to my favorite mentor for the experience. Watch this space for the Big reveal."

The picture shared by the actor, capturing a moment of surprise exchanged between the two while Aamir Khan sported white beard and hair.

Indian media speculates that Aamir Khan and Darsheel are set to return in the sequel titled “Sitare Zameen Par.” Although the details remain unconfirmed, reports suggest that both actors have commenced work on the film, and the cryptic poster is associated with this upcoming project.

Earlier, while discussing his highly-anticipating project in 2023, the "Laal Singh Chaddha" actor said, “We are going ten steps ahead with the theme of Taare Zameen Par. That film made you cry, this one will make you laugh. In Taare, I helped Darsheel’s character, but in this film nine people, with their own set of problems, will help me.”

"Taare Zameen Par" tells the story of Ishaan, an eight-year-old struggling with undiagnosed dyslexia. Aamir Khan portrays his supportive art teacher, who unlocks Ishaan's potential by addressing his learning challenges.
