Indian tennis star Sania Mirza recently opened up about experiencing the lowest moment of her life and spoke about the challenges she continues to face while raising her son alone.

Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza finalized their divorce in January 2024. Since their separation, both have remained publicly silent, avoiding any discussion about their personal matters.

In a conversation with Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan on her YouTube show, the tennis star talked about the painful phase she went through after separating from her former husband, Shoaib Malik.

Farah Khan mentioned that Sania has to raise her son as a single mother, saying there is no job tougher than that. Sania agreed, saying, “It is very, very hard. We all have our own journeys, and we have to choose what’s best for us,” she added.

Sania admitted that being a mother, working, and raising her kid at the same time often leaves her exhausted.

She further revealed that although she doesn’t usually like to talk about such things on camera, there was a time when she was in deep distress. It was during that period that Farah helped her when she couldn’t appear on camera for a live show.

“That was one of the lowest moments,” Sania said, adding, “I was shivering, and if Farah had not come there and said to me, ‘No matter what, you are doing this show,’ I wouldn’t have done it. I would have left.”

Farah Khan shared that she felt extremely sad and frightened at that time, as she had never seen Sania having a 'panic attack.'

Sania said that people often question her friendship with Farah, asking what they have in common. She explained that it is their ability to bond deeply that has strengthened their friendship, adding, “Even strong women need other people.”
