Saba Faisal, once again came under social media criticism after she passed a controversial statement during a recent television appearance about how a newly married bride should behave in her in-laws’ home.
Saba Faisal regularly appears on television programs and interviews where mostly she discusses marriage, family dynamics and domestic issues. Her latest comments were made during a morning show, where the conversation was mainly about expectations placed on a new bride after marriage.
During the discussion, Saba said that immediately after a wedding, the in-laws’ house is usually full of guests and the mother-in-law is taking care of multiple responsibilities, including looking after guests and managing house chores. She claimed that the new bride does not carry similar responsibilities at that stage.
According to her, if the new bride feels the need to rest, the mother-in-law should ideally offer it herself. However, if that does not happen, she suggested that the bride should politely approach her mother-in-law or a married sister-in-law to ask for permission to rest.
She further said that communication plays a key role in maintaining harmony in the household. According to Saba, directly “ordering” or demanding rest is generally not accepted in an in-laws home, while, asking respectfully can make a significant difference. She claimed that even a mother-in-law who is very strict would not refuse such a request if it is made politely.
