Rajab Butt Speaks After Court Attack in Karachi

In the case of public assault and torture involving Rajab Butt, a case has been registered against the lawyers at Karachi’s City Court Police Station on the complaint of Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq.

Mian Ali Ashfaq said we are giving application in different lawyer bar authorities to confiscate and cancel their license, as we have evidence that even after the assault, these lawyers are still posting videos with bravery.

After the torture at the Sindh High Court, Rajab butt gave an exclusive interview. Rajab stated that he was clearly not expecting this kind of ridiculous behavior from lawyers. 

Rajab said, “He told me that they trapped my lawyer, and I was heading towards him with Nadeem Naniwala.”

He further added, “There were 4-5 lawyers who attacked me, but in total, there were 50 lawyers. They came pre-planned, with sticks, and they also made videos about assaulting me whenever I visit Karachi. The court was just like a playground without any law or rules.”

Rajab also said that this attitude did not suit these lawyers; we will continue with our legal activity in this matter. 

Rajab’s lawyer, Mian Ashfaq Ali, said, “Me and I have never faced such violent circumstances in the previous 8 years.”

The lawyer also added that I was trapped with inappropriate conversation with other lawyers because they did it intentionally just to attack and assault Rajab Butt. He praised Rajab Butt for tolerating the violence and not responding with any sort of reply or violence.

Ashfaq also raised questions about the security of the Sindh High Court, saying that the attack did not give them any benefit; instead, they are getting insulted all over the world for this act.
