The Islamabad High Court has given the police one more week to locate the whereabouts of missing National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Deputy Director Muhammad Usman.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Rozina Usman, the wife of Usman, who has been missing for several days.

An IHC bench comprising Justice Muhammad Azam Khan was informed that Usman had allegedly been abducted by four armed men on October 14.

Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi, who appeared on Rozina’s behalf, informed the court that Rozina herself had gone into hiding after submitting the petition for her husband’s recovery.

DSP Legal Sajid Cheema, representing the police, told the court that efforts to locate the missing officer were ongoing and that the SSP Investigation was handling several important cases, including that of YouTuber Saadur Rehman alias Ducky Bhai. He added that several other officers working on the same case had also gone missing.

According to Cheema, tracking data showed that Rozina was last located between Lahore and Islamabad until October 18, with her final known address on Empress Road, Lahore, before her phone was switched off. When police visited her home, it was locked, and her children were also missing. Cheema further stated that Usman’s last known location was in F-6, Islamabad, and CCTV footage from the area had been reviewed. He emphasised that gaining access to WhatsApp data could provide crucial leads.

Advocate Abbasi informed the court that Rozina had received a threatening call prior to her disappearance, warning her to withdraw the petition.

Abbasi argued that ten days had passed since the officer’s abduction from the federal capital without any progress. The DSP Legal requested one week's time to obtain the WhatsApp data. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted police the requested time and adjourned the hearing until October 31.
