Renowned actor Muneeb Butt questioned the silence and lack of outrage over the killing of three members of the Sabri Qawwal family, who were en route from Karachi to Quetta to perform at an event.

Taking to Instagram, Butt expressed disappointment that while human rights organisations frequently speak out on various issues, no condemnation was issued following the merciless killing of the Qawwals in the Kalat bus attack.

He lamented that not a single statement of solidarity or sympathy was released in support of the victims.

“It is disheartening to see such silence. These were artists,  musicians, who were simply traveling for their work. Their loss deserves the same empathy and outrage we show for others,” he said.

Passenger coach attacked near Kalat: Three killed, 7 injured in gunfire

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, when armed men opened fire on a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Quetta, near Kalat in Balochistan.

Among those killed were renowned Qawwal Ahmed Sabri, his son Raza Sabri, and their guitarist Asif, all affiliated with Karachi’s celebrated Majid Sabri Qawwal Group.

At least 13 others were injured in the attack. Survivors later shared harrowing accounts of the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their colleagues and the trauma they endured.

The bodies of the slain Qawwals were brought back to Karachi on Thursday morning via helicopter, arranged by the Balochistan government.
