Fashion designer and actor Deepak Perwani recently opened up about an uncomfortable experience he faced while shooting for the drama Jama Taqseem. He shared that although filming at a mosque was an exciting opportunity, certain moments during the shoot made him uneasy.

Perwani, who has successfully transitioned into acting, has appeared in several notable dramas including Yunhi, Qarz-e-Jaa, and others. He is currently seen in the trending series Jama Taqseem, where he plays a father, a role that has earned him wide appreciation for his strong performance.

In a recent interview with Fuchsia Magazine, Perwani discussed the challenges he encountered during the shoot, especially during scenes filmed at religious sites. He explained that the cultural and religious sensitivities made some locations difficult to navigate.

Talking about shooting inside a mosque, he said he felt a sense of discomfort and was not fully at ease.

“I felt there were a few scenes where I was uncomfortable,” he said. “One of them was shot in a mosque, which will air soon. I was initially reluctant because I had never done such scenes before. Even the Islamic terminology was difficult, like tajweed. But I believe it is part of an actor’s range; when you take on a role, you should perform it with perfection.”

He added, “I can’t reveal much because the scene hasn’t aired yet. They asked me whether I would be able to do it, and I said yes, because it’s my job as an actor.”
