Veteran actor Khalid Butt passed away on Thursday in Lahore after a prolonged illness, battling liver and kidney diseases. With a career spanning over four decades, he etched his name in the hearts of people with impeccable performances across TV and cinema  in Urdu and Punjabi languages.

He is survived by his widow, two sons, and two daughters. His funeral prayers will be offered after Asr prayer on Friday, as confirmed by family sources. A tireless performer, Butt remained committed to his craft until the very end; one of his drama serials, 'Khaei,' is currently on air.

Within his magnificent and decades-long career as an artist, he left behind a trail of unforgettable performances in widely acclaimed drama serials such as ‘Teesra Kinara,’ ‘Neelay Hath,’ ‘Landa Bazaar,’ ‘Jangal Pura,’ and ‘Boota’ from ‘Toba Tek Singh.’ Celebrities mourned the demise of the legendary actor, reflecting on his unwavering commitment to his work.

Veteran actress Simi Raheal turned to Instagram to offer her condolences, stating, “He was an unusual gifted man known in the industry as “ Sayana.”

Taking to ‘X’, actor Sohail Ahmed praised Khaild Butt “ a man of social values.”

His co-actor in his last drama, Durefishan Saleem said, “I’ll do many roles but never will I have the greater privilege of working with a man who taught me what art is.”

Faysal Quraishi shared a video message on his Instagram account, reminiscing about his long journey with Khalid Butt in the entertainment industry. He asserted that despite his illness, Butt remained highly professional in his work.

Saba Faisal, Muhammad Noor-ul-Hassan and Adnan Siddiqui also wrote heartfelt tributes to the legendary actor.
