Angelina Jolie has once again drawn attention to the devastation in Gaza, sharing stark satellite images and urging people to look at the destruction across the territory through Google Earth.

Jolie shared the images on Instagram and wrote, “You can now open Google Earth and see what was done to Gaza.” She said whole neighborhoods had been reduced to rubble, while homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads and water and sanitation systems had been damaged or destroyed.

The actress also highlighted the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians as winter approaches. She said 1.98 million people, or 94 percent of Gaza’s population, need shelter assistance and essential items, while aid and shelter materials continue to face restrictions and delays.

Jolie referred to UN satellite analysis which found that, as of June 16, 2026, around 82 percent of Gaza’s structures had been damaged. Roughly two-thirds of those damaged structures were classified as destroyed.

She said Google Earth makes the physical destruction clearly visible but cannot show what it means for people living among the ruins or the impact on families who lost loved ones.

Jolie also called for urgent action, saying people need shelter before winter and that humanitarian aid must reach civilians on the scale required. She also stressed the need for medical supplies for hospitals and conditions that would allow people to rebuild their homes, schools, hospitals and communities.

The satellite imagery has provided a wider view of the damage across Gaza, showing neighborhoods that once contained dense residential areas now heavily damaged or covered by rubble. Recent analysis of Google imagery has also shown extensive destruction in areas including Rafah, Khan Younis and Gaza City.
