Veteran Indian actor Mumtaz’s love for Pakistani dramas brings her to Karachi

Veteran Bollywood actor Mumtaz commenced her first visit to Karachi, where she received a warm welcome from acclaimed actor Ahsan Khan.

Ahsan Khan shared heartwarming photos with the iconic Mumtaz on his Instagram story, a veteran actress whose mesmerising performances captivated audiences and established her as an icon of Indian cinema's golden era.

On her maiden visit to Pakistan, Mumtaz is accompanied by Moin Baig, a distinguished Indian scriptwriter known for penning the script of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming Netflix creation, Heeramandi

In a recent interview, Ahsan Khan shared that legendary actress Mumtaz is a big admirer of Pakistani dramas and intends to spend time in both Islamabad and Lahore during her two-week stay in Pakistan. Mumtaz also expressed her desire to connect with friends and colleagues within the Pakistani film industry.

Mumtaz also voiced her appreciation for Ahsan Khan's work, expressing particular admiration for his latest drama, "Sukoon."

“The way it has been picturised, the cameraman is good, your performance is too good," she said. 

Ahsan further shared about his deep-rooted friendship and frequent contacts with Mumtaz. He voiced his joy at her arrival in Pakistan and expressed certainty that she will be enjoy the warm hospitality in Pakistan.

Ahsan underscored the significance of Mumtaz's visit, stating that it's truly remarkable that a legend of such stature crossed the border “to receive the respect she rightfully deserves in Pakistan.”

Long retired from the spotlight, Mumtaz was previously rumoired to be making a grand comeback with Bhansali's new series, though these rumors remained unconfirmed.
