Pakistani students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges abroad will not be required to pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) clarified on Monday.

The decision was approved by the PM&DC Council at its meeting held on September 14, 2026, according to an official notice issued by the council.

The notice states that MDCAT will not be a compulsory requirement for Pakistani students applying to medical or dental institutions abroad.

The clarification is expected to make the admission process easier for students planning to pursue medical or dental education in other countries.

The PM&DC issued the notice to clarify the admission requirements applicable to Pakistani students seeking medical and dental education outside Pakistan.
