A high-level Saudi Arabian business delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council, arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss measures for enhancing bilateral economic collaboration, the Foreign Office said.

According to the statement, the delegation will hold meetings with Pakistan’s leadership, senior government officials, and representatives from chambers of commerce and leading business groups. The discussions aim to explore opportunities for expanded trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The visit, the Foreign Office noted, highlights the “deep-rooted and brotherly ties” between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and reflects their shared commitment to strengthening economic and investment partnerships under the framework of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council.

“Talks during the visit are expected to focus on trade and investment facilitation, with special emphasis on cooperation across priority sectors aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s economic growth agenda,” the FO said.

The delegation’s arrival follows the signing of a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between the two nations on September 17, during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Riyadh. The agreement stipulates that any aggression against either country will be treated as an act of aggression against both, marking a significant milestone in defence cooperation.

The accord, signed at Al-Yamamah Palace in the presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has been described by experts as a historic development that elevates Pakistan-Saudi relations to a formal security partnership.

The visit of the Saudi business delegation is expected to build upon this strengthened strategic framework, with both sides seeking to expand economic ties alongside growing defence cooperation.
