ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the restoration of its flight operations to the United Kingdom, marking its return after a five-year hiatus.

The national flag carrier will resume service with direct flights between Islamabad and Manchester, beginning October 25.

According to a PIA spokesperson, two flights per week will initially operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The Islamabad flight will depart at 12 p.m. and arrive in Manchester at 5 p.m. local time, while the return flight will leave Manchester at 7 p.m., landing in Islamabad at 7 a.m. the following morning.

The spokesperson noted that PIA plans to expand the frequency of flights to Manchester in the coming months and, in the second phase, introduce direct flights to London.

Bookings for the UK sector have already opened, with PIA offering competitive fares. “With this service, our passengers will now be able to reach their destination in just eight hours instead of 15,” the airline stated.

Calling the relaunch a “milestone,” PIA added that it aims to provide travelers with a comfortable and modern flying experience.

To facilitate smooth operations, the airline has also invited applications from hotel service providers in Manchester.
