Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was informed on Monday that Pakistan has adequate reserves of petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL) to meet demand until the third week of June.
The update was shared during a high-level meeting where officials from the Ministry of Petroleum briefed participants on the current supply situation. They said that, after accounting for incoming shipments, existing stocks are sufficient to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel across the country through mid-June 2026.
The briefing comes at a time when global fuel markets have seen sharp price increases over the past two months. The surge has been linked to disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which has remained largely paralysed since late February following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.
Officials told the meeting that fuel supplies are being monitored on a daily basis by the National Coordination and Management Committee (NCMC) to maintain oversight and manage the supply chain effectively.
Dar appreciated the efforts of relevant authorities for maintaining a steady and reliable fuel supply across Pakistan despite ongoing global and domestic challenges.
