Govt raises profit rates on National Savings schemes

The federal government has increased profit rates on several National Savings schemes, with the new rates notified by the Ministry of Finance.
According to the notification, the profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates has been increased by 19 basis points to 11.80%.
The rates for Behbood Savings Certificates and Pensioners’ Benefit Accounts have been raised by 12 basis points to 12.72%.
The profit rate on Regular Income Certificates has been increased by 60 basis points to 11.76%, while the rate for Special Savings Certificates has been raised by up to 74 basis points to 11.82%.
The government has also increased profit rates on Sarwa Islamic Term Accounts. The rate for the three-year plan has been raised by 41 basis points to 11.57%, while the five-year plan has been increased by 54 basis points to 11.70%.
The revised rates will apply under the latest notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
