Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik on Thursday announced an increase in fuel prices, setting petrol at Rs458.41 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs520.35 per litre.
He shared the update during a press conference alongside Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The new fuel prices will come into effect from April 3.
At the start of the briefing, Malik explained that global energy prices have surged due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

“It has not just affected the entire region but the entire world as well,” he said, highlighting the impact on Pakistan’s energy costs.
The minister urged the public to maintain discipline and unity, noting that the government’s decisions, though difficult, were made in response to circumstances beyond Pakistan’s control. He expressed regret that the war had undermined progress toward economic stability and growth achieved over the past one to two years.
