Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Saturday in line with a sharp rise in the international market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola increased by Rs5,400, reaching Rs415,278. Meanwhile, the rate of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs4,629, settling at Rs356,033.
In the international market, gold prices also saw a significant jump of $54, with the precious metal trading at $3,940 per ounce, the association said.
Jewellers attributed the continued rise in domestic prices to global market fluctuations and the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.
