Gold prices rose sharply in the domestic market on Friday, following an increase in the international market.

In the local market, the price of gold per tola went up by Rs12,200, reaching Rs440,936, according to the rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.

The rate for 10 grams of gold also climbed by Rs10,459, taking it to Rs378,031. A day earlier, gold had recorded a gain of Rs9,100 per tola and was being sold at Rs428,736.

In the global market, gold prices increased by $122, pushing the rate to $4,185 per ounce, including a premium of $20.

Silver prices also moved up, rising by Rs319 to settle at Rs6,764 per tola.
