Gold prices climb Rs8,500 per tola in Pakistan

Gold prices moved higher in Pakistan on Tuesday in line with an upward trend in the global bullion market.
According to figures released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola climbed by Rs8,500 to Rs470,862 in the local market.
The rate for 10 grams of gold also rose and was recorded at Rs403,688 after an increase of Rs7,288.
A day earlier, on Monday, gold per tola had closed at Rs462,362, reflecting a daily rise of Rs6,200.
Internationally, gold prices also posted strong gains. The global price increased by $85 to reach $4,485 per ounce, including a premium of $20.
In contrast to gold, silver prices showed no change. The metal continued to trade at Rs7,205 in the domestic market.
Market observers noted that local gold prices generally follow movements in the international market, with global trends influencing rates in Pakistan.
