A buffalo in Punjab's Mandi Bahauddin has set a world record by producing 37 litres of milk in 24 hours, surpassing the previous world record held by an Indian buffalo.

The Blue Ravi breed buffalo, named Mastani, broke the record previously held by an Indian buffalo that produced 32kg of milk in 24 hours.

A ceremony was held in honour of Mastani at a private hotel in Gujranwala.

The event's organisers, the Pakistan Buffalo Breeder Association, awarded Iftikhar Ahmed Bagri, the buffalo's owner, a prize of one lakh rupees and a trophy.
