In a disturbing incident, a bride was killed by her husband and in-laws over 'dowry' in Punjab’s Sheikhupura, it emerged on Tuesday.

According to details, the victim, named Nazia, had tied the knot with the suspect, identified as Shoaib, five months ago.

Police said the suspect with his family killed Nazia after the latter failed to fulfill her in-laws' demand for a car.

The First Information Report (FIR) was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s family against the five individuals, including her husband.

The victim's family said Shoaib threatened Nazia that if she failed to comply with his requirements he would divorce her.

The police transported the victim's body to THQ Hospital Mortuary and initiated a probe into the matter. 

However, the suspect and his accompanies are still on large and the police are conducting raids to arrest them.
