A pro-Palestine protester on Saturday raised voice for the people of Gaza during the German ambassador’s speech on civil rights at a conference in Lahore.

The incident took place when Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan Alfred Grannas was addressing the audience at the 5th Asma Jahangir Conference titled ‘People’s Mandate: Safeguarding Civil Rights in South Asia’ at Faletti’s Hotel.

The video of the incident also went viral on social media, in which a boy could be seen calling out Grannas for speaking on civil rights.

“Excuse me, Mr Ambassador. I am shocked by the audacity that you are here to talk about civil rights while your country is brutally abusing the people speaking for the rights of the Palestinians,” he said.

The participants lauded the young boy for expressing his anger by chanting the slogans; “Free, Free Palestine” and “From the River to the Sea”.

“If you want to shout, go out, there you can shout. Because shouting is not a discussion,” the German ambassador responded to the young guy's protest.

Germany is one of the staunchest backers of Israel’s war on Gaza.

The relentless military strikes have killed more than 34,000 people, most of whom are women and children, and displaced nearly the entire population of Gaza.
