Zartaj Gul boasts of Imran Khan’s addressing UNGA session in Urdu
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul in an event has made a blunder which shows that she might not have watched Prime Minister Imran Khan’s United Nations General Assembly speech.
In a viral video on social media, she said, “It is Prime Minister Imran Khan who honored white shalwar kameez and waistcoat dress. It is PM Imran Khan who speaks in his beautiful Urdu language in the United Nations.”
Interestingly, neither Imran Khan was donning white shalwar kameez nor he spoke in Urdu language. Instead, he wore blue shalwar kameez and spoke in English.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had addressed the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday. He spoke on a range of issues, including the Kashmir conflict with India, Islamophobia, climate change, money laundering and world peace.
PM Khan had said that his country always committed to world peace. He had said,
“I want to make one thing clear that when we came to power my first priority was Pakistan would be a country which would try its best to bring peace.“
He had further added,
“Seventy thousand [Pakistanis] were killed in a war that we have nothing to do with. So when we came to power we decided that we will dismantle the groups what was left of them.We decided that there would be no militant organizations in Pakistan.”
Speaking of hatred towards Muslims, the Pakistan premier had said after the 9/11 attacks in the United States, Islamophobia had grown at a pace.
