After being denied bail by the Islamabad High Court, the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the primary suspect in the high-profile Noor Mukadam murder case, filed a bail petition in the Supreme Court on Wednesday (today).
Zakir Jaffer and his wife Asmat Zakir have petitioned the Supreme Court of Pakistan for bail through attorney Khawaja Haris.
On September 29, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) denied bail to the parents of main suspect Zahir Jaffer in the Noor Mukadam murder case.
Noor was murdered on July 20, reportedly by her friend Zahir Jaffer, in the area of Islamabad’s Kohsar police station.
On September 23, Justice Aamir Farooq Kiyani reserved the ruling, which was announced in open court.
While denying Zahir’s parents’ bail, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the lower court to finish the trial within four weeks.
Jaffer is the primary suspect in the murder of Noor Mukadam. The heinous crime, in which Mukadam was killed, occurred on July 20 in Islamabad’s F-7 district.
Noor Mukadam is the daughter of Shaukat Mukadam, Pakistan’s former ambassador to South Korea and Kazakhstan.
On the night of July 20, Islamabad police apprehended suspect Zahir Zakir Jaffer from his residence, where, according to Noor’s parents, he murdered her with a sharp object and chopped her head.
