KHAR, BAJAUR: “District Headquarters hospital, Khar is running out of health supplies. Chief minister KPK should find a solution, immediately.” says Chairman Rehan Zaib Khan.
A press conference was organized by the Youth of Bajaur, in which they voiced out the lack of medical facilities. Brother and Uncle of young Jibran, who lost his life due to non-availability of oxygen, also participated in the press conference.
“Last week my brother passed away in pain, in my father’s lap, because there was no oxygen available. I want justice.” These were the words of Jibran’s elder brother Talha, son of Naik Rehman.
Jibran’s uncle told that after the incident when they went to DHQ hospital Khan, so at one place the child was severely injured, and on the other hand we were told to bring injections and several medicines from outside. Oxygen cylinders, which were provided by the hospital, were unfilled, and they were emptied on our way to Peshawar. None of the health workers accompanied us, and the ambulance did not have the cylinder fitting gears. Little Jibran breathed his last in extreme pain in his father’s lap. We demand the KPK government to help us get justice.
Rehan Zaib Khan said that people bring their beloved to hospital, in ailment, but they face problems for electricity, oxygen, medicines, and other issues.
Jibran’s father Naik Rehman is in extreme grief. Department of Health, Bajaur gets a budget from Federal government, and now even the province provides financial budget, for different reasons, in billions of rupees, but the health services given in return of that are equal to none. Hospital management should provide all the details as to where and how is such a huge amount of money is spent?
For the last 10 years, the hospital has not spent its revenue for hospital maintenance. Even if after investments of millions and billions of rupees, our little Jibran could not get oxygen, then this is very unfortunate for us.
They have proved that by using the platform of Youth of Bajaur, they have raised the issues regarding the problems faced by the people in hospitals, and raised their voices for the investigation of the expenditure, after which it got proved that the hospital management has a huge responsibility for the poor health facilities.
People of former FATA, now hold hopes for betterment in health facility, in KPK. But even uptil now, after the Merger Process, people have their uncertainties. Even if after having 2 MNAs, one center and 3 MPAs, we cannot improve the situation of one hospital, then none is ineligible than us.
