Young boy dies after drowning in school’s swimming pool

KARACHI: A young schoolboy has expired after drowning in swimming pool of a private school in Sultanabad area near PIDC, Karachi.

The 11-year-old, Usman was a student of sixth grade at Habib Public School, Sultanabad.

The director of the school said it was a swimming day on Tuesday and swimming classes were being given to 15 kids. He said the pool was deeper than the children’s height and the child panicked and lost his conscious. When the school administration took the kid to hospital, he was pronounced dead, he added.
