Youm-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram, will be observed on Thursday (today) across the country with due solemnity to pay homage to the great sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), his family members and devoted companions in Karbala.
The mourning processions will be taken out in all the cities of the country.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have also been issued for the mourning processions to avoid spread of COVID-19.
Ulema and Zakireen will highlight the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and various aspects of Karbla tragedy.
In the Federal Capital the main procession of Taazia and Zuljinah will be taken out from Markazi Imambargah G-6/2 which will conclude at the same place after passing through the traditional route.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident during the mourning processions.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said all security related departments were fully alert for maintenance of law and order situation on the occasion of Ashura.
“Additional security personnel have been deployed for the security of mourning processions. The mobile service has temporarily been suspended at some places for the security of the people,” he had said while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The minister had asked the participants of the processions to adhere to the SOPs to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
