KARACHI: Shamsa Saboohi, Director at Saboohi Crafts, is a creative designer and an expert in the field of Handicrafts. It was back in the 2000s when she started to learn the skills. She did different courses related to handicraft designing.
Back in those days she started the journey of hers and was a source of inspiration for women empowerment. She stood up for herself and her family. Though she had many difficulties, one thing she knew for sure was that the journey will be hard. It will be a lot of work.

Still she looked on the bright side, she worked hard to achieve her way to success. There was just one catch. She needed to start somewhere. Ideas and opportunities don’t just materialize out of thin air. It took her 6 years to take her work to the next level.
When in 2006 she started exhibiting her work. with over a hundred exhibitions as of now. Her hard work and the struggle behind it took her to places.

It was a big achievement for her when she did a solo Exhibition in the Arts Council of Pakistan, later in the same year she traveled to Iran with a government delegation for an exhibition as well

After that there was no turning back for Saboohi, She got an award for the best stall in the 5th My Karachi Exhibition at Expo Center in 2008. Not only that but she has received many awards from the handicrafts association of Pakistan but also from Karachi Chambers of Commerce as well.
Saboohi makes wall hangings, lamps, small houses, tissue boxes, jewelry boxes, table mats. Not only this but she does foil work as well.

It never ceases to amaze how much time people waste searching endlessly for success and fulfillment when the only real path is staring them right in the face. People like Saboohi firmly believe that people should not be inspired by international products and her work give people the reason for not doing so.
