LAHORE: Provincial Health Minister Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday said situation of Punjab would have been grimmer if lockdown was not imposed to control the coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore, Dr Yasmin Rashid has said the situation of coronavirus had improved due to lockdown in the province.
“The government has increased testing facilities which may increase the number of corona cases in the province in the next two weeks, however the situation will be under control,” she said.
The Punjab health minister urged the people especially those over 60 years to stay at homes, use face masks and adopt other precautionary measures.
Earlier, she inaugurated Corona Ward at Social Security Hospital in Lahore.
Balochistan extends lockdown for another two weeks
The Balochistan government has extended the ongoing lockdown for another two weeks.
According to an announcement made by Balochistan Home Ministry in Quetta on Tuesday, the lockdown will continue till 21st of this month.
