ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said that the world wanted to see whether the Taliban were acting upon their words or not.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also stressed the Afghan Taliban and former rulers to craft all-inclusive political structure after consultations. He said nobody wanted bloodshed in Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan was determined to play its positive role as its envoy in Afghanistan was also in touch with different Afghan personalities.
The foreign minister said the Afghan delegation visiting Pakistan had held talks with him and Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said some anti-peace elements were active to play the role of spoiler.
“It is the test of Afghan leadership’s sagacity as to how they cope with such challenges,” he said.
On the borders’ situation, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said all the neighboring countries should sit together for consultations.
He said he intended to visit the neighboring countries in the next few days to chalk out a comprehensive strategy after consultations. He said our aim is Afghanistan’s stability and we will continue our endeavors in this regard.
Meanwhile, a special flight of the Pakistan International Airline will bring 350 passengers from Afghanistan this afternoon.
The passengers include representatives of the World Bank and other world institutions.
