“Women facing domestic violence stand up and walk away”: Mathira

Mathira talked about the very sensitive topic of domestic abuse after Aliza Sultan submitted evidence of alleged physical abuse against ex-husband Feroze Khan in court.

Taking to Instagram, Mathira urged the society members and all the parents that ‘do not tell your daughters who are in an abusive relationship that this is how marriage is or he will change’.

Mathira also shared her experience of being in an abusive relationship. She wrote, “I have walked this tough ugly road myself. To all the women who are facing domestic violence stand up and walk away cause once a man raises his hand he will always do that”.

While talking about the role of society in domestic violence cases, Mathira wrote, “the society needs to change and bring change. Stop worrying about the world. Worry about your baby girl”.
